We've Arrived!!!

Praise God!! We've made it to the Dominican Republic and couldn't have asked for an easier travel day. God blessed us with no traffic, short lines, no delays and healthy kids! :) God is good! The kids had a great time getting to know one another on the plane and during our layover in Miami. Here we are ready for departure at O'Hare.
Time for take off!

We passed the layover time in Miami with a game of cards, pizza, and snacks.

Finally arrived at Hotel Europa in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic! Rafael, our guide for our trip, is pictured on the far right. He was excited to welcome us and take us straight to dinner.

Dinner was gorgeous- outside on a patio near our hotel. Our table is pictured on the left under the canopy. The kids loved the 3 dishes offered: Spaghetti, Chicken or Beef.
A good start to our meals here. :)

After dinner we took a quick walk in the plaza downtown. Here is a photo of Christopher Columbus' home, which is now a museum. The students were surprised to hear that Colombus landed here first and had a beautiful home.

We ended our night with a debrief and a bible study on the rooftop. The kids did amazing today, they made all of us so proud. We couldn't have asked for a smoother travel day. Tomorrow the real work begins, we'll be heading out early in the morning to the church where we were be serving this week. The kids are all VERY anxious to get there and to see the area we'll be working in. We thank you all for your prayers today- they sure did help!
We've tucked everyone in and now ready for bed ourselves! We'll post more tomorrow night, I'm sure we'll have lots to share. It may be late at night since we have a long day and won't be working on the computer until we are done working with students for the day.
Quick special "good night" to our daughters, Emma and Isabel! We miss you and know you are having fun with Grandma and Grandpa. Love you!
